Public Notice Regarding COVID-19
In response to the public health emergency with the coronavirus and in consultation with the County Controller, the Ingham County Drain Commissioner has decided to close the Office to the public March 16 - April 5, 2020. 

 If you need to contact the Office prior to reopening, please send emails  to  drainoffice@ingham.org.  Emergency calls can be directed to (517) 719-4913 or (517) 719-4914.  You may also contact individual staff through their emails and phone contacts.  During this closure, Soil Erosion Permit requests may be sent to Jason Lynn, other permitting and engineering requests may be sent to Angie Cosman, and drain maintenance requests may be sent to Don Drumm or Eric Daldos.  Contact information is listed below.  Citizens and title companies needing drain assessment payoff information during Office closure may contact Sheldon Lewis at the contact information below.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this closure may cause.  The decision to close the Office was not made lightly, but after a great deal of consideration for the safety of staff and the public.  The Office will do all it can through the internet and phones to continue to serve your needs during this public health emergency.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The Drain Commissioner's Office provides for construction, maintenance and improvement of County public storm drains.  Responsible for the legal establishment and administration of drainage districts.  Assesses benefited property owners to pay for costs of the drains.  Other responsibilities include lake level control, soil erosion control (through issuance of permits), acting as the County Board of Public Works and review of proposed subdivision plats.
